After completing the still life, the scene seemed to be missing something. In a series of paintings, tiny people have been added, creating a sense of whimsy and begging the viewer to look closer. In this one, a cowboy takes a nap in the shadow of a pear. Behind him, a blue and white porcelain dish sits alongside a decorative clock.
